Dry supplement for sheep and cattle for In-feed or Free Access
Product Code: MH01 Click Here for Print Ready Version
Purpose: HiPro is designed to be fed as a supplement with dry feed and roughage to elevate the fibre digestibility and utilisation efficiency of farm-produced forage. It offers much needed levels of the major minerals, essential trace elements and vitamins A, D3 and E. The supplement is designed to be fed at times of nutritional need for an economic source of protein and nutrients.
AusMin – HiPro can be fed free access or included in mixed rations.
Product Description: A palatable, dry, granular, dust free, feed supplement designed to be fed to sheep and cattle. To the nose it has a sweet molasses smell and appears as a light coffee brown coloured granular material in which coated urea prills are evenly disbursed.
Key Features:
- Molassed to increase palatability, control dust, reduce product losses and limit separation in mixed feeds.
- Granular to reduce segregation in feeds and allow even intakes when fed free access.
- Partially waterproofed to reduce weather damage and rain leaching
- Contains optimum levels of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and salt for optimum performance at pasture.
- Contains a high level of calcium to support foetal development and milk production in pre- and neo-natal cattle and sheep.
- Contains magnesium from 2 sources to meet the animal’s higher demand of late pregnancy and lactation.
- Contains a high level of Vitamin E for, immune-response and viability of post-natal offspring.
- Contain urea (8.5%) as an available source of protein.
- Contains 26% protein equivalent

Feeding Instructions:
Mixed Rations:-
Mix thoroughly together with other ingredients to make a complete mixed ration at a rate of 25kg of AusMin - HiPro supplement per 1 tonne of mixed feed.
Free Access Feeding:-
Offer AusMin – HiPro free access in tubs limiting intake to around 20g/head/day once animals are fully adapted. After a period of introduction of around 1 week animals will control their own intake to around 20g per day.
Use one tub for 50 – 60 sheep or 20 – 30 cows.
AusMin HiPro contains 8.5% urea.
Introduce gradually by mixing 50/50 with AusMins GP for around 7 – 10 days.
AusMin – HiPro is partially waterproofed. It is advisable to use tubs vertical slits to allow rain water to drain out. If water accumulates in the tub simply pour the water away and the premix beneath with remain quite dry.
Warning!:
- Introduce gradually and monitor intakes until intake stability is achieved
- Take care if animals are hungry as over consumption is possible.
- Only feed to livestock intended.
- Do not use in lamb or beef feedlot diets
- DO NOT FEED TO HORSES OR OTHER MONOGASTRIC ANIMALS
Technical Note:
The high level of protein in AusMin HiPro, in the form of rumen degradable protein (RDP) from 4 sources, provides a substrate for elevated rumen microbial activity thereby increasing the digestibility of on farm roughages. Other included nutrients such as phosphorus, sulphur, vitamins and trace elements are also necessary to maximise rumen function.
Performance responses to AusMin HiPro are often greater than predicted from nutritional calculations. This suggests that microbial protein is not only providing protein to the animal but is also behaving as a source of energy within the body.
The high salt level encourages elevated water intakes. This, inturn causes more bacteria to be ‘washed’ out of the rumen and into the small intestine and by doing so providing an elevated nutrient supply to the animal .
Naturally, good quality water must be freely available at all times.
Compared to other products in the market AusMin HiPro stands unique in quality and efficacy.
Roughage in the paddock must be available and plentiful. Note that cattle and sheep often struggle to consume standing stubble. Shortage of available and palatable feed can lead to over consumption of product.
In event of occasional over-consumption, budget feeding is recommended. This means, feed the amounts indicated in the table below. Replenish with new material only when the theoretical time is right for new material even if the animals are without product for a few days!
